Catching up!! Technique Tuesday for September

I'm sorry to be so behind in my posts. I had a downline (or upline) meeting, an Open House (my first!!) and a club meeting and I just haven't had time to do any posting.

But tonight I plan to get somewhat caught up.

Our Technique Tuesday was September 9th at Catherine's. We had "M" and "N" which turned out to be Metal Faux and Negative Split.

Here's the Faux Metal card we made and I'll include the directions from our album insert!

Stamp Set: Cute & Curly (from the Curly Label Punch Bundle, Page 189), Sentiment from All Holidays
Card Stock: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette Designer Series Papers, Sterling Silver
Ink: Silver Encore Pad
Embellishments: Silver Embossing Powder, Riding Hood Red 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Silver Brad, Boho Punch, Curly Label Punch

Here are the directions for Faux Metal - these make really nifty additions to your cards and keep the cost down!!

Negative Split

Obviously I'm "fudging" on the name of this as it's usually called Split Negative, but that's okay, right?

Everyone loved the Negative Split and the fun thing is that you can do two cards in one as you cut them apart and have two!! Nice!!

Stamp Set: Bronc Buster
Card Stock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Baja Breeze and Baja Breeze Designer Prints
Ink: Basic Black, Black and White Craft Ink
Embellishments: Silver Brads, White and Clear Embossing Powder

Negative Split Instructions

Negative Split
Supplies
Black and White Craft Ink
White and Clear Embossing Powder
Heat Gum
Black & White Card Stock
Heat Tool and Paper Trimmer

Select a stamp that is large and can take center stage. Use paper trimmer to cut black and white card stock the size of the wood block of the stamp you are using. Stamp image in white craft ink on black card stock. Emboss with white embossing powder. Next stamp image in black craft ink on white card stock and emboss with clear embossing powder.

Determine midpoint of image and cut both black and white card stock in half. Adhere two opposite images to coordinating cardstock just larger than the original images. Finish your cards.

With this class we are half way through the alphabet - this has been fun and I look forward to sharing the rest of the alphabet with my girls
